Report on first medical results six months after beginning a campaign to eliminate IDD in Azerbaijan. The campaign was focused in the prevention and treatment of goiter among 227,000 schoolchildren, aged 8-16 years. In 1999 each child received 1 capsule containing 190 mg of iodized oil (Lipiodol). Medical estimation were later conducted just prior to a second dose administered in April 2000. Return to Top
